Film-documents:

There are 85 050 units of audiovisual documents in the fund of Archive. Audiovisual documents in the Archive are accessible for the period 1910 - 2008.

Many kinds of films are accessible in the archive – cinema magazines, documentary films, animation films etc.

LVKFFDA is keeping audiovisual documents in formats such as 35 mm, 16mm, 8mm film formats, VHS, Super VHS, BETACAM, BETACAM DIGITAL, DVD, mini DV, DVCAM, HI 8 videoformats.

Photo documents:

LVKFFDA is keeping more than one million of documentary photographs. Pictures date from 1863 year up to nowadays.

There are 20’s and 30’s documentary photographs collections where could be found Latvian masters M. Buclers, J. Rieksts, V. Ridzenieks and N. Hercbergs works. Latvian State president office has betrayed some historical considerable documentary photographs, after the termination of presidential term of Vaira Vike-Freiberga.

There is possibility for researchers to obtain the copies of documentary photographs both in a digital format of documentary photographs and in a photocopy kind on a photo paper.

Audio documents:

LVKFFDA is keeping more than 43 000 sound documents. Special values have recorded in 1920-1930’s 3000 BELLACCORD ELEKTRO phonograph records, the first and the second originals. Also there are many others private collections in our Archive, for example, phonographs records collection “Latvian Music” from Zuzannas Kancanes, who lives in Sweden. A collaboration appearing with a collector A.Bertin, which has given a present to the Archive department from its collection of phonographs records, what contains both Latvian and foreign performers works. Latvian State president office has betrayed some historical considerable sound documents, about the presidential term of Vaira Vike-Freiberga.

The electronic documents:

On 2008.01.01 2734 units in different formats such as CD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and MO of the electronic data and documents are keeping in the LVKFFA storeroom. In foundation of the state storage are LR Central Statistics electronic reviews (2707 units) about statistical information of important industries, for example, “Review for information technology in use enterprises in 2004” in Riga or “Review for agriculture harvest take away in 2003” in Jelgava.

Origin of other electronic data and documents source is information of the liquidated or reorganized state and self-governments institutions systems, which are accepted to the state storage from 18 various state and self-governments institutions in the 27 CD-R and MO unit formats.

This electronic data and documents are obtained from a book-keeping, personnel account, civil registry and etc. self-governments information systems.

As an example we can mention Health statistics and medicine agency technologies reorganized “The state register of doctors” information system, which summarizes information about all registered doctors in Latvia.
